Intrastat

Hungary joined the European Union on the 1st of May, 2004. Since then, goods can be transported without administrative bounds in the European market. Before this, statistical data was gathered from duty documents, but this has changed with the abolishment of border control. Since then, data is collected from the manufacturers and distributors. This is called the INTRASTAT.
Companies and individual contractors are required to create an INTRASTAT, if their:

– Yearly import to the European Union exceeds 100 million HUF
– Yearly export from the European Union exceeds 100 million HUF
